Chip the rusting material with a screw driver or something if it is too bad. Wash the grill with any detergent or soap with hot water, using a soft cloth. Now use coconut oil or any edible oil and apply thoroughly. Then dry it in the sun, make sure the heat and light of the sun are on the rusting material. You can also use vinegar. Make sure it is covered and not in moisture while not in use. If the grills are badly rusted then you have to change it for a neat/New one. You don’t want rust flavor to be added.
